Sam Juniper

Sam is the vineyard manager at Celestial Bay. Sam has spent a fair bit of time travelling and lived in India for 3 years during the late 1970's. Upon returning to Australia in 1980, he moved to Cowaramup and has been based in the area since, apart from the occasional overseas or interstate trip and a 4 year study stint in Perth. He has worked for various Margaret River vineyards over the last 20 years, including Sandalford and Howard Park. Sam joined Celestial Bay in 2000, after completing his degree in Natural Resource Management, and has overseen the development of the property from the beginning. As a result, Sam has a significant personal attachment to the vineyard and the brand. He strives to ensure that everything is as good as it can be. Sam has a strong belief in soil mamangement and the minimisation of the use of agri-chemicals. The best wine Sam has tasted is the 2004 Cullens Dianne Madeline. He reckons freshly caught abalone matched with a Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is heaven on a stick and is quite partial to the Celestial Bay 2007 SSB |
